At FRG, we believe in putting our values into action – not just in how we work, but in how we give back. We are proud to announce that we are now regular supporters of The Funzi and Bodo Trust, a UK-registered charity working to improve lives in the remote Kenyan villages of Funzi and Bodo.
FRG was founded by two African immigrants who built the business on a vision of empowerment and inclusivity. Supporting sustainable development in Africa reflects our roots and our responsibility to give back.
Founded by journalist Ashley Peatfield and his wife Sara, a teacher, The Funzi and Bodo Trust delivers transformative support across healthcare, education, and economic empowerment. Their work is driven by local need, delivered through local talent, and made possible by the generosity of volunteers and supporters.
Every aspect of the Trust’s work is focused on long term change, enabling communities to build their own paths forward. Key initiatives include:
- Education: Two community-built schools now provide computer access, libraries, and qualified teaching, with the Trust funding young people all the way through to college and university.
- Healthcare: From clinics, birthing rooms and laboratories to a children’s disability support centre and life-saving operations, the Trust brings vital services to people who would otherwise go without.
- Nutrition: Up to 2000 meals are provided weekly to malnourished children, while sustainable farming is taught to adults and young people to help communities feed themselves.
- Economic uplift: Interest-free micro loans help local families launch or grow small businesses, from carpentry to seaweed farming.
- Hygiene and dignity: Through clean water initiatives, the construction of hundreds of hygienic toilets, and a sanitary pad programme that helps girls stay in school, the Trust is improving everyday health, wellbeing, and educational access across entire communities.
At FRG we know that education, the kind that builds confidence, capability, and resilience, changes everything. That’s why this partnership complements our continuing support of Education for Africa, another organisation working to remove barriers and open doors for the next generation of African leaders.
By supporting both charities, we’re investing not just in projects, but in people – and in a future where success and stability aren’t dictated by geography.
