Jamal is the Chairman & principle Founder of First Response group.
Having started the business in 2007, Jamal has continued to guide its strategy and growth. In more recent years focusing on its acquisitive strategy, including finalising acquisitions of Robinsons M&E Ltd and Apardion Ltd into the FRG Group.
From a background in accountancy, Edgar co-founded FRG with Jamal in 2007.
Edgar has been intrinsic to the growth of the company and plays a leading role in advancing the FRG brand through acquisitions.
He is now Managing Director of Robinsons M&E, one of the UK’s leading full building services, engineering and property maintenance contractors, acquired by the FRG Group in 2018.
Edgar is a Chartered Fellow Manager of the CMI and a member of the CMI Practitioner Panel which reviews, rates and comments on the latest management thought articles.
Simon has an extensive track record in the Security Industry and joined FRG as CEO and co-owner early 2018.
His career includes 14 years at VPS where he held numerous leadership roles and Directorships in both the UK and the Netherlands. He has an abundance of senior sales, commercial and strategy leadership skills and a proven track record of transforming organisations and driving business growth.
Simon is proud of FRG’s EPIC culture which is built on our belief that inclusion and diversity is not just a strength, it’s the foundation for innovation, collaboration, and success. Simon sits on the Security Industry EDI Forum, collaborating with other industry leaders to develop standards that promote EDI and belonging across the entire security industry.
With a background in accountancy, Sonya has been a vital part of FRG since 2010 and has played a key role in the company’s growth, helping it evolve from a small regional team to a top 20 security and FM solutions business.
Sonya supports the FRG Board across a broad range of functions, ensuring the smooth operation and ongoing success of the organisation.
With over three decades of experience in the security industry, Barry brings his extensive knowledge and insight to the new Group Managing Director role at FRG.
In addition to a track record in driving sales growth, Barry has led teams across many business disciplines, including crisis management, operations management, private investigations, systems, and emergency risk management, with senior c-suite experience in some of the most respected blue-chip companies in the UK.
Barry will focus on building exceptional teams and developing long term client relationships to help drive our business forward and deliver success.
Colette has over 25 years’ experience working in finance, across a variety of roles.
For the past 16 years she has been working in the Waste sector, gaining extensive expertise in supporting and driving business growth.
As Group Finance Director, Colette leads FRG’s Finance and IT functions, playing a pivotal role in supporting the company’s ambitious growth journey toward becoming a £150 million turnover business.
James joined FRG in 2018 and has worked in the security industry for nearly two decades.
With strong commercial and strategic expertise, James has a track record of successfully leading and managing teams.
James was instrumental in the development of FRG’s Risk Management division and now oversees the Group’s sales and business development functions, driving growth and innovation across the organisation.
Dannii Wood-Wright joins FRG as Group HR Director, leading our HR, Recruitment, Compliance and Health & Safety (QSHE) functions.
She boasts an illustrious career, leading HR for multi-million-pound, international businesses after initially studying law at university, and brings a wealth of HR experience to the security industry.

With a background in senior management within the hospitality sector, Alex leads FRG’s Stadia and Events division, overseeing high-profile projects and deployments across sports and business.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Alex represented his country as an international rugby player at both schoolboy and senior men’s levels.
In addition to his achievements in sports, Alex holds a Master’s degree in Sports Management and has made history as the only person to win the prestigious ‘Security Manager of the Year ‘award two years in a row at the Security and Fire Excellence Awards (2023 and 2024)
Amy has over 20 year’ experience working in marketing and corporate communications across a wide range of consumer and B2B industries.
She has been the driving force behind FRG’s marketing and communications for the past seven years, playing a key role in building the brand and showcasing our industry leading initiatives.
Amy is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (MCIM) and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (MCIPR).
As leader of our Systems & Technology division, Troy plays a key role in the development of our products and services ensuring that we offer our customers the best value solutions and latest technology.
Troy provides guidance to the FRG board on our CSR initiatives and supports our culture of inclusion and happiness through workforce engagement.
He is an elected member of the Living Wage Foundation Recognised Service Providers Leadership Group and the SIA Strategy & Standards Group and regularly represents FRG in our endeavours to support the professional development of the Private Security Industry.
Derek is the Managing Director of Apardion Ltd, one of Scotland’s leading security and facilities providers, and brings his extensive security industry knowledge to the FRG Group.
Derek’s role is supported by a strong management background along with over 16 years’ experience in a Police operational risk environment, delivering strategy, governance, policies and intelligence. During his Police career he focused on Counter Terrorism and led the Northern Border Policing Command Unit within Police Scotland.
He was also formally a HSSEQ specialist in the oil and gas industry.
As Client Development Director, Ryan will maintain a key position at the forefront of the security and facilities management industries, keeping up to date on market trends, managing senior stakeholders, strategic planning and guiding commercial negotiations. He will also play a pivotal role in FRG’s ongoing relations with the City of London Crime Prevention Association (CoLCPA), The City Security Council, and TiNYg, reinforcing FRG’s commitment to thought leadership and industry innovation.
Anwar is the Managing Director of First Response Group’s canine division, React K9.
He leads his team in delivering specialised canine security and detection solutions, ensuring excellence in service and operational performance.
