First Response Group, the site security and fire risk specialists, has taken a market-leading position by being the first security company in the UK to be awarded Gold member status by Supply Chain Sustainability School (SCSS) after a recent assessment.
Founded in 2012, SCSS is a multi-award winning collaboration between 65 of the largest construction clients and contractors to provide a virtual learning environment that aims to help suppliers and sub-contractors develop their sustainability knowledge and competence. Since joining the School in 2016, FRG has focused on the specific sustainability challenges of its business and utilised the tools and resources supplied by the School to assist in addressing them. Improvements included a review of remote workforce operations, introduction of Electric & Hybrid vehicles to the company fleet and new paperless reporting systems.
Commenting on the award Jamal Tahlil, Managing Director at FRG, said:
“Gaining Gold status is a great achievement for FRG and reflects our dedication to actively engage with sustainability best practises across our supply chain and within our company culture. Our membership of SCSS plays an integral role in our sustainability strategy. It gives us the tools to develop and improve our sustainability competence, promotes collaborative working across departments and helps us to understand our client’s needs better.”
To build on the success of Gold status, staff at FRG will continue with the e-learning modules, workshops and tools supplied by SCSS to further increase and share their knowledge, keep pace with changing industry standards and ensure sustainability excellence. Reassessments by SCSS will be made bi-annually.
