Healthcare: Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – Access Control System Replacement

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS trusts employing 17,000 people across community health services and five of Yorkshire’s best known teaching hospitals.

The swipe card access control system at four of the trust’s key hospitals had been run to failure requiring a complete system replacement. FRG installed an innovative networked access control system across the 4 hospital sites to provide a secure environment without hindering people flow. Every door across the multiple sites is networked to a cloud based central database improving efficiency and safety and the proximity system is more reliable than the old swipe cards allowing staff to move around the building faster. The contactless nature of the system also helps to improve hygiene levels; a key factor for medical environments.

To keep the building running at full speed with minimal disruption to patient care FRG implemented a shift working pattern. Strict hygiene measures were also implemented by every FRG employee on site including regular handwashing and dust minimisation practises to ensure a clean environment was maintained. The installation programme was successful with no security issues reported or interference with the functioning of the hospital during the works.

Education: Homes for Students – Student Accommodation Officers Portfolio Expansion

Homes for Students is one of the UK’s leading providers of student accommodation. They offer a range of student accommodation across the UK.

FRG began working with Homes for Students in 2016 with a reactive out of hours response to an emergency Fire Alarm situation. FRG reacted swiftly, securing the property housing 200 students within minutes. Over the next 12months FRG provided a highly professional, cost effective service and rapidly grew the portfolio.

FRG Officers fulfil a mixed range of services including Security, Front of House & Concierge, Pastoral Care and Help Desk & Student Welfare Support. Our officers displaying advanced communication skills whilst maintaining the safety and wellbeing of the residents.

In October 2017 FRG won the tender to service an additional 15 sites located from St Andrews in Scotland down to Chelsea, South London. With just 4 weeks preparation, FRG successfully migrated all 15 properties on the same day across the wide geographical area with all regions providing a unified and consistent service.

FRG continues to grow the Homes for Students portfolio by providing the very best service. In 2019 the services increased by another 4 locations and in 2020 an additional 55 locations were added to the portfolio.
